WHAT IS AN ALLERGEN:
Over 50 million Americans suffer from upper respiratory tract symptoms
that are allergic reactions to airborne allergens. Allergy refers
to the immune systems reaction to contact with a foreign substance.
Most of these foreign substances are usually nontoxic or non allegoric
in people. Allergy producing substances are called allergens.
Examples of allergens include mold, dust, mites, pollen, dander
and foods.
When these allergens come in contact with the body they cause
an allergic reaction in certain people. There are two types of
allergies. Seasonal
allergies are caused by blooming and growing trees in the spring,
grass in the summer or weeds in the fall. Perennial allergies
occur
year round and are triggered by dust, mold, animal dander and
mites. PMT identifies the type of allergen in the home so that
individuals’ allergic
reactions can be eliminated or lessened.

WHY SHOULD I HAVE A MOLD
INSPECTION:
To feel secure that your home is safe and providing you and your
family with a healthy environment. Unfortunately, mold cannot
be seen most
of the time unless it has positive conditions for mold growth. These
include moisture, high temperatures, high humidity and a substrate
to grow on. The mold can then multiply in size and be seen as
discoloration.
Our certified and professionally trained inspectors will determine
the type of mold present by visual inspection and testing. These
procedures
assess whether or not toxic mold is present in the home. Our staff
will assist you in addressing ways to eliminate the mold problem
from your
home.
